Professor Chang teaches in the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Department, primarily in the area of environmental engineering. Her courses have included Energy: Resources, Alternatives, and Conservation, Mechanics of Fluids, Principles of Environmental Engineering, and Applied Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics.
With interest in applied science, Dr. Chang worked in the implementation of environmental policy both domestically and internationally. At the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, she was a part of the team that enforced the Clean Water Act for Region 9, for which she participated in inspections of industrial and municipal facilities and liaised with state-level officials. Internationally, she consulted with the World Bank on issues such as climate change, marine conservation, energy efficiency, and wastewater pollution with the governments of Tanzania, Kenya, India, and Croatia. Additionally, she provided support to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on Education for Sustainable Development. |
